Haven Avenue

Owner: City of Rancho Cucamonga
Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Value: $14.3 Million
Year: 2008 – 2009

The project includes lowering the existing grade of Haven Avenue where it intersects the railroad tracks, construction of a temporary detour for Haven Avenue and the railroad tracks, a new bridge for the railroad tracks over Haven Avenue, and realignment of adjacent streets and intersections.

The primary feature of the grade separation is a 4-span railroad bridge spanning over the lowered Haven Avenue roadway section. The bridge superstructure consists of precast, prestressed arched concrete box girders and will be simply supported at the abutments and bents. The bridge width is 40′ carrying two railroad tracks. Within the 40′ section, a separate girder carries a 21″ waste water pipeline and other utility conduits.
